Our philosophy

Les Chalets des Granges Neuves are a set of four "mazots" or cabins, grouped together in order to offer customers demanding maximum comfort while preserving the authenticity of the habitat.


The oldest date from 1786 (date of the first ascent of Mont Blanc : a symbol) and 1802, they offer outside a darker appearance, but inside are both bright and warm.

To make the best of the 50 m2, it was necessary to use inventiveness (and necessary concessions) to create a room with a double bed 160 x 200 with micro-toilet area (bookable option for more comfort and privacy) and, in the main lodge, which is an assembly of two mazots, one from 1800 and one new, a 50 m2 garage in basement (possible access for storage and drying equipment, clothing and footwear), an also spacious bathroom in the basement (with skylight), a room with two beds (one of 160 x 200 and a 140 x 190 in the mezzanine), a kitchen-living room with dining area and sitting area around the real wood-burning stove.

The exterior is in keeping with its two terraces : one southeast to take breakfast in the sun in spring, a northwest for appetizers at sunset, sheltered from the cool breeze. The cottages are built on a garden of 400 m2 which you enjoy in the summer, along a quiet road at the foot and with a 360 ° view of the famous peaks that surround the Chamonix valley.

The design, furniture, equipment is of high quality : premium bedding for a good sleep, quiet and functional appliances, Pots and pans and cutlery quality Jotul stove, Samsung Full HD TV with Usb Hdmi inputs to view movies and photos (cable not supplied), sound system for your smartphones and tablets, WI-FI, functional and cozy mountain furnishings. Services will include, besides the bed linen and towels, the products necessary for the kitchen and an assortment of excellent Nespresso pods. A second home that will be hard to leave.

We do not suscribe to an official ratings or star scheme. In our experience, our non-french guests' requirements do not meet the french administration's criteria. We would score 5* but have foregone the spa-type gym equipment (for healthsafety reasons) and the separate WC (for reasons of space).

Despite the care we put into the design and implementation of these chalets, we will listen carefully to your comments, if possible, to further improve your comfort. Thank you for your cooperation.


A final word : the property was brand newly refurbished in february 2015, and we want it to stay looking new for all our guests. Please be considerate of the more fragile items : lacquered kitchen doors, glass plate under the fireplace, the inside of the wood burner (surprisingly fragile when loading with wood), glass induction cooker hob, glass bathroom sink. To ensure your care, we will require a deposit upon entering the premises.
